Thank you to everyone who came out to the 11th annual Downtown Milton Street Festival last Saturday, June 2! The event is co-hosted by the Town of Milton and the Downtown Milton Business Improvement Area. The exciting atmosphere and beautiful weather brought tens of thousands of people to the Downtown Milton community.
Main Street quickly filled up with people, as visitors from Milton and beyond enjoyed the wide variety of attractions that the Downtown Milton Street Festival had to offer. In the center of all the excitement, over 100 vendors and local business owners lined the streets to showcase a wide variety of clothing, services, household gifts, food, and more. The opportunity to shop at local businesses was surely a favourite attraction for many, as it brought a real community feel to the event.
There was certainly no shortage of food, as visitors could also satisfy their cravings at the Food Truck Zone. With picnic tables and the Beer Garden close by, this was a great spot to grab a meal and relax. The extended patios offered by many of Downtown Milton’s local restaurants were also a great hit. Visitors could sit back and indulge in their favourite meal, while enjoying the upbeat atmosphere of Main Street.
The Downtown Milton Street Festival wouldn’t have been complete without the amazing entertainment throughout the day. Visitors enjoyed over 30 performers and local musicians, showcased on three different stages. When asked about their favourite part of the festival, one attendee replied, “the entertainment and great energy of everyone there!”
There were lots of attractions for kids and families. Kidz Zone was buzzing with excitement and activities all day, and kids enjoyed free access to bouncy castles, obstacle courses and more. The climbing wall had kids scaling it all day long. A highlight for many was the Reptile Truck, where families could observe a variety of animals and even enjoy a live reptile show!
Thank you again to everyone who came out to the Downtown Milton Street Festival this year. A special thank you to all the volunteers and the sponsors that help make this event a reality every year.
For those who missed the Street Festival this year, we hope to see you in 2019 so you can explore all that your Downtown community has to offer.
